Service-oriented Approach Supporting Dynamic Manufacturing Networks Operations

[EN] In the current economic crisis, also the manufacturing sector is asked to evolve towards more dynamic organizational structures within which, composing manufacturing processes, almost in real time, will become a need. This work aims at introducing flexibility and dynamisms to current manufacturing processes by separating its tasks from its final performers. With the proposed approach, the performers replacement can be done almost seamlessly. Additionally, the approach shows how dynamic negotiation and contracting, either for a whole process or a single activity, can be smoother if the task specification is based on a standard service interface defined at the ecosystem level. At the end, a prototype implementation is briefly described.Franco Pereyra, RD.; Ortiz Bas, Á.; Gómez-Gasquet, P. (2013).

Franco Pereyra, RD. A reusable structural design for mobile collaborative applications

Architecting mobile collaborative applications has always been a challenge for designers. However, counting on a structural design as a reference can help developers to reduce risks and efforts involved in system design. This article presents a reusable architecture which helps modeling the communication and coordination services required by mobile collaborative applications to support collaboration among users. This architecture has been used as a basis for the design of several mobile systems. Two of them are presented in this article to show the applicability of the proposal to real world collaborative systems. © 2011 Elsevier Inc. Open Ecosystems, Collaborative Networks and Service Entities Integrated Modeling Approach

This paper introduces an integrated modeling approach that has been used to design and implement the ColNet platform. ColNet is the result of creating an integrated system, supporting distributed business processes design and execution in a Collaborative Network (CN) belonging to an Open Ecosystem (VBE). The work has been carried out as a part of the FP7 REMPLANET European Project, which aims at providing methods and tools for better decision-making in non-hierarchical collaborative networks. The functional alignment of Open Service Ecosystems, Collaborative Networks and Services Entities lifecycles is adopted as main functional requirements for the platform design and implementation while, at the same time, they raise an integrated modeling need. Both constitute the underlying approach followed when designing and implementing ColNet and are briefly described hereFranco Pereyra, RD.; Ortiz Bas, Á.; Gómez-Gasquet, P.; Rodríguez Rodríguez, R. A Framework for Improving Planning-Scheduling Collaboration in Industrial Production Environment

[EN] The work presented in this paper highlights how a real scheduling problem can be considered as a process avoiding the traditional operation research-based approach. Understanding the scheduling problem as a dynamic, uncertain and continuous process, in order to reduce the gap between reality and academic models, new conceptual elements emerge. The framework includes methodologies, concepts, architecture, and algorithms, which are based on the idea of a multiagent system in which planning-scheduling relationship is the core proposal. From the framework a software platform has been developed and tested in real industry. This work has been carried out as part of the project “DPI2008-06788-C02-01 (PERMACASI)” funded by Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación of the Spanish Government and as part of the project “PAID-06-10-2396 (NegoSol-MAS)” funded by Vicerrectorado de Investigación of Universidat Politècnica de València.Gómez-Gasquet, P.; Lario Esteban, FC.; Franco Pereyra, RD.; Anaya Fons, VA.
